La dispersione - I KING

This work is inspired by the Book of changes I King. It is an interpretation of a fundamental text of the oriental culture. The European edition, edited by R. Wilhelm, was introduced by the preface of C.G. Jung, and it created a bridge with western culture and the psychoanalytic theory. The painting depicts a phase of tea making that is so much part of the traditions of the East as well as of the Anglo-Saxon culture
In this painting a child who turns his gaze towards a sea that today is the scene of pain and suffering but also desire for redemption.
I did not want to show the tragedy that daily happens in the Mediterranean through provocative and strong images because I believe that even the need to surprise, to strike, to upset the viewer is no longer present and would be obvious today. Freedom from preconceived schemes is also formal freedom which, in this case, manifests itself through an apparently traditional subject.
 
Opera ispirata al Libro dei mutamenti I King , si tratta dell'interpretazione di un testo fondamentale della cultura orientale. L'edizione europea , curata da R. Wilhelm, era introdotta dalla prefazione di C.G. Jung, ed ha creato un ponte con la cultura occidentale e la teoria psicoanalitica. Nel quadro un bambino che rivolge il suo sguardo verso un mare che oggi è teatro di dolore, sofferenza ma anche desiderio di riscatto. Non ho voluto mostrare la tragedia che si consuma quotidianamente nel Mediterraneo per mezzo di immagini provocatorie e forti perché ritengo che anche la necessità di stupire, colpire, sconvolgere lo spettatore sia ormai venuta meno e risulterebbe, oggigiorno, scontata. La libertà dagli schemi precostituiti è anche libertà formale che, in questo caso, si manifesta tramite un soggetto apparentemente tradizionale.
